Fit India Movement
On 29th Aug.2019, the Honourable Prime Minister launched nation-wide “Fit India Movement” aimed to encourage people to inculcate physical activity and sports in their everyday lives and daily routine. St. Paul’s Academy Celebrated Fitness Week from 25th Nov to 30th Nov 2019 with much enthusiasm and vigour. This celebration helped the students to realize the need to be physically fit to face challenges of daily life in this modern world. Day 1-Under this celebration, First Day Yoga program was held during morning assembly. In which all the students participated and gained the usefulness of Yoga. Our Yoga instructor took the initiative to awareness about the profit of Yoga to our students. Many activities on fitness for students and staff were performed in our school. Day 2- On the second day of fitness week our school conducted free hand exercise for all the students. Mental Fitness activities like debate were held to enhance mental ability of the students to think and create new ideas. Students actively participated in the activity. Students became conscious about the benefits they gain by doing exercises- it helps for good health, improve memory, reduce stress etc. Day 3- On the third day of fitness week our school conducted Poster making competitions was held for all the students on the theme FIT BODY-FIT MIND-FIT ENVIRONMENT. Students of our school drew many beautiful and motivating poster for making others aware about the fitness of our body, mind and environment. Day 4- Physical Activities such as Dance, Yoga, Rope-skipping, Martial Arts, Gardening etc. where held as part of the fitness week on 28-11-19. Students actively participated in the activity. Students became conscious about this benefits they gain by doing these activities- Dance for better coordination and flexibility, Yoga improved athletic performance , Martial Arts gives you supreme self-confidence, Rope-skipping for Burns Calories and Gardening Reduces Stress. Physical activities help for good health. Essay and poem writing competitions for all students on theme “Fit India School”. Students actively participated in this activity and expressed their views to be fit and healthy. Day 5- As part of fitness week celebration on Fifth Day i.e. 29th Nov 2019, our school conducted Fitness/ Sports Quiz for all students. Students actively participated in the competition and represented their knowledge and their answers showed that they are much aware about the fitness and health facts. Day 6- On sixth day, i.e. 30th Nov 2019, our school conducted a traditional game of TUG OF WAR for students and staff in order to celebrate the unity in Diversity of our Nation and to maintain and strengthen the fabric of traditional existing emotional bonds between the people of our country. Students and staff enjoyed this competition very much. This enclosed all together in a sprit for this amazing sports.
